Strawberry Picking

My friend Rosalyn invited us to go strawberry picking this morning. I had never been before, so I hopped on the opportunity to do something new! Not to mention, Miss E & Miss O would have a blast tearing through a strawberry farm.

Here are a "few" pictures from our adventure:

And...of course...we immediately came home and washed our beautiful strawberries

and of course....we made strawberry shortcake!

How did you spend your weekend?

  1. I have great childhood memories of strawberry picking! The shortcake looks yum!

  2. I have never been strawberry picking before. Looks like fun and that cake looks good.

  3. I'm stopping by via Kelly's Korner. I'm also a VA blogger. Strawberry picking sounds fun and eating the shortcake sounds even better! I need to go picking soon or the season will be over before I get there. Last year I made jam and it was so good, much better than store bought.

  4. I took a road trip years ago to my BFF's house in OK with my daughters. They were quite young then, but their major memory from that trip (and mine too) was blackberry picking. They absolutely loved doing it! We ate them on everything, they were so sweet and tasty.

  5. We used to pick strawberries out of our garden when we were younger ... now, we planted strawberries for our boys to pick ... certainly not on that scale, but, we'll have strawberries for EVERYTHING soon!!!

  6. Wow... this sounds like fun and so rewarding for the kiddos to do --- instead of the store, they literally eat the FRUITS OF THEIR LABOR. Wow... what fun too- thanks for sharing this and the pictures.
